Iniciativa Comunitaria brings together complementary programs and services to support the community in its development and transformation. To better understand our program services, we’ve divided them into five core categories based on the populations we serve.
Addiction and Substance Abuse
- PITIRRE is a comprehensive care and treatment program for substance users.
- Compromiso de Vida is a drug detox center for men and women.
Prevention
- Barrio Vivo is an alcohol prevention program for teens 15-17 years old, their relatives and members of the community.
- Brega Bien is a prevention and education program for youths that are exposed to at-risk environments.
- Punto Fijo is a harm reduction program for people who use drugs and are at risk for HIV.
HIV/AIDS
- Center for Life is a clinic for persons who are HIV or at risk for HIV.
Homeless
- Operation Compassion is a street medicine program that delivers food, medical care and prevention kits to the homeless and/or homeless drug addict by making nighttime street rounds.
International Projects
- Peace Initiatives – Guatemala mission is a community development initiative centered on health promotion.
- Peace Initiatives – Haiti mission is a humanitarian initiative to provide health services to children, youths and adults.
- Mission Puerto Rico – Temporary health clinics and physical and mental health brigades throughout the island.
